Animal Welfare Challenges: Assessing Your Current Animal Welfare Program
Stephen Shepard, FACTA, A Subsidiary of Frost, PLLC

Current data suggests that producers that initiate strong Animal Welfare (AW) programs have better quality products and increased productivity. In other words, comprehensive AW programs make good business sense and drive profits. But exactly how do you minimize risk within your company by focusing on AW? It starts with acknowledging your weaknesses and turning them into your strengths. Click here for the complete article.

MPC Seeking Internship Hosts

As MPC prepares for the 2014 COE, attention now turns to the process of arranging student internships which immediately follow the summer session classes.

Internships are an integral component of the COE experience for students pursuing careers in the poultry industry. In fact, a COE Student Survey revealed that students who participate in an industry-related internship were much more likely to be later employed within the poultry industry - the very goal of the Program itself.

But we need your help as an MPC sponsor! Internships provide students invaluable exposure to your company, its mission, and tangible, hands-on work experience within the poultry industry. Please consider hosting one of our students at your facility this year.

To learn more about our intern hosting opportunities, please take a moment to contact Jenna Knoblauch at 651.766.8118 or mpc@mwpoultry.org. Thank you for your continued support of our COE students!
