What is COE? Since there are very few poultry science departments left, MPC members, along with university faculty and administrators, have created a "Virtual Poultry Science Department" and the Center of Excellence Scholarship/Internship Program, largely funded by the poultry industry.

The Goal... Enhance poultry science education in MPC member states and ensure the availability of qualified poultry graduates for employment within the industry.

Scholarships.. Up to 32 students a year are awarded scholarships, including housing and up to 18 credits (two six-week summer sessions). Courses compliment most majors and credits are transferable to the student´s home university.

COE is unique... Students are guided through recruitment, education, internship, employment and networking opportunities. The best and brightest faculty with the foremost industry experts provide a strong research-based poultry science education, combining state–of–the–art labs, interactive classroom lectures and discussion, and field trips.

Internships... . Companies provide on–the–job opportunities to students giving them a first–hand look at the poultry industry.
